Green Zone

Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass (The Bourne Supremacy, The Bourne Ultimatum, United 93) re-team for their latest electrifying thriller in Green Zone, a film set in the chaotic early days of the Iraqi War when no one could be trusted and every decision could detonate unforeseen consequences.

Being Human

Max (Mark Lee) is a hardworking but unscrupulous employee for a mildly successful slimming centre Natural Beauty. In his efforts to increase company profits, Max decides to purchase supplies from a counterfeit brand. When he was found out, Max was fired. In his retaliation, Max decides to open a rival company Max Beauty, using the same counterfeit beauty products and imported slimming pills. Max's conscience (played by Taiwanese celebrity Nono) appears to advise him against these actions but is duly ignored. Max will eventually realize that what comes around, goes around and what it means to Being Human Being.

Nodame Catabile The Movie

Chiaki (Hiroshi Tamaki) has just won the prestigious Platini International Music Competition leading to his being named new conductor for the Le Marlet Orchestra. Despite having a storied tradition and the place where Chiaki's mentor, Herr Streseman, got his start, Chiaki finds to his great dismay nothing more than a ragtag group of lackluster musicians with no unity or desire. The orchestra has fallen on hard times, with financial cutbacks leading to less rehearsals, smaller and smaller audiences and dwindling patrons plus an uncooperative concertmaster who throws Chiaki into despair.

Meanwhile, Nodame (Juri Ueno) spends her days steeped in piano practice. Along with friends Frank (Eiji Wentz), Tania (Becky) and Kuroki (Seiji Fukushi), all are pinning their hopes on passing a tough examination for promotion at their music conservatory. When Chiaki asks Nodame to perform with his orchestra as celesta for Ravel's Bolero, she is beside herself with joy... until circumstances lead to her giving way to gifted pianist, Rui (Yu Yamada). Nodame is crushed, but suppresses her shock, allowing her heartfelt yearning to see Chiaki succeed take precedence. Matters are further complicated when a horrible fate strikes Chiaki and his roughly-hewn Marlet Orchestra prior to their first performance.

Will Chiaki be able to revive a broken down orchestra and launch his musical career? And what will become of Nodame and Chiaki's relationship? Are they beginning to drift apart? The answers lie in the dramatic conclusion of Nodame Cantabile The Movie I & II.

About the Director
Radu Mihaileanu is a French director and scriptwriter born in Bucarest (Romania) on April 23, 1958. Son of a Jewish journalist, he flees from Romania in 1980 during Ceausescu's dictatorship, to find refuge in Israel, next in France where he studies cinema at IDHEC. For the 1980's, he is director assistant, notably for Marco Ferreri. In 1993, he makes his first film as a director, Betrayal, of which he co-writes the script. This first movie is well received by the criticism and wins lot of prizes around the world. With his second movie, Train of life, Radu Mihaileanu has an international success, especially thanks to two awards won at the Venice Film Festival in 1998. In 2005, with Live and Become, he obtains the Cesar of the best screenplay and several awards at the Berlinale.

SYNOPSIS
During the Brezhnev era, Andrei Filipov was the greatest conductor in the Soviet Union and he directed the famous Bolshoi Orchestra. But after refusing to abandon his Jewish musicians, including his best friend Sacha, he was fired at the height of his glory. Thirty years later, he is still working at the Bolshoi, but... as a cleaner. One evening, when Andrei has stayed late to the polish the director's desk, he comes across a fax addressed to the Bolshoi management: it is an invitation from the Thtre du Chtelet in Paris for the orchestra to come and perform there. Suddenly, Andrei has a crazy idea: why not bring together his old musician friends, who now get by doing menial work, and take them to Paris, passing them off as the Bolshoi Orchestra? It is the long-awaited occasion for them to at last get their revenge.
