In this follow-up to the 2008 worldwide hit "Journey to the Center of the Earth," the new 3D family adventure "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" begins when young Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson, reprising his role from the first film) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist. It's a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean's new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzman) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever.

Not as entertaining or enticing as its predecessor but Journey 2 still manages to be enjoyable with a solid plot and fun if not poorly CGI-ed action sequences. While laughable at some parts, the movie still proved an amusing and engaging 94 minutes.

Expected the story to be brainlessly fun but CG was really poor and disappointing, which really affected the overall experience. Even Lord of the Rings produced 10 years ago had better effects. While it tried, the movie was bland and forgettable.

Guilty Pleasure. It is brainless adventure with hilarious action scenes but the pace and story keeps you afloat. As expected graphics were cheap but story flows evenly for everyone in family to enjoy. Passes expectations but not by much. 3/5

Despite every negative review I’d read about this movie, I still gave it a go as my son had wanted to watch it...it turned out to be quite enjoyable, and I liked the plot. It made me want to re-read all those books! Just watch it for entertainment!:)

Superb CG effects, but poor storyline. Should have more plots of weird animals & weird plants in the mysterious island. Anyway, it’s still an entertaining movie, a family movie.

As entertaining as "the pec pop of love". Do watch the movie to find out what that pop is.
