Although slow at times, Crazy Heart makes for a good enough drama that boasts of fine prefromances from the leads and a memorable tune at the finale. Reminicent of 2008’s The Wrestler, Crazy Heart nevertheless stands on its own despite shortcomings.

Even fine performances by Bridges and Gyllenhaal fail to lift this average drama about a country music singer who seeks redemption and love after a lifetime of hard-living and loneliness. Fairly watchable but moments of dullness plague the film. B-.
