It''s been a decade since Ben (Duplass) and Andrew (Leonard) were the bad boys of their college campus. Ben has settled down and found a job, wife, and home. Andrew took the alternate route as a vagabond artist, skipping the globe from Chiapas to Cambodia. When Andrew shows up unannounced on Ben's doorstep, they easily fall back into their old dynamic of macho one-upmanship. Late into the night at a wild party, the two find themselves locked in a mutual dare: to enter an amateur porn contest together. But what kind of boundary-breaking, envelope pushing porn can two straight dudes make? After the booze and big talk run out, only one idea remains - they will have sex together...on camera. Its not gay; its beyond gay. Its not porn; its art. But how exactly will it work? And more importantly, who will tell Anna (Delmore), Ben's wife?

Writer/director Lynn Shelton, director of My Effortless Brilliance and recipient of the Someone to Watch Award at the 2009 Independent Spirit Awards, expertly mines the biggest ironies of the male ego to hilarious effect. HUMPDAY is a buddy movie gone wild.

AWARD:
Special Jury Prize, Dramatic- Sundance Film Festival 2009

This movie is great. It’s not about porn; its about love, friendship, care and respect. It is hilarious to see the two guys pushing up their limits. But they show us that pushing up one’s limit need not be doing porn.

Definitely not a movie for the young. Im just ok with it. Too much alter ego involve in the story line. I mean... If you want to embark on something, make sure that it’s within your reach. No point satisfying the alter ego thingy.

Factors that are funny yet cruel; real in daily routines (esp. marriage part).
The movie got R-E-A-L....dull with certain stumbles/ acts when the boys were trying to create the porn. Overall, I should’ve went for another porn instead

You either like it or you don’t. I don’t. Though there were some humour in selected scenes, I expected for more "meat" and wit in the plot. Unfortunately it did not compare with other Sundance entries I have previously seen.

A clever and funny script with wonderful dialogues. The comic timing and cuts were spot on as hilarity comes in waves. It is a buddy movie with an awkward premise captured sensitively with closeups and camera shakes. A tour de force in indie film.
