Voldemort is tightening his grip on both the Muggle and wizarding worlds and Hogwarts is no longer the safe haven it once was. Harry suspects that dangers may even lie within the castle, but Dumbledore is more intent upon preparing him for the final battle that he knows is fast approaching. Together they work to find the key to unlock Voldemort's defenses and, to this end, Dumbledore recruits his old friend and colleague, the well-connected and unsuspecting bon vivant Professor Horace Slughorn, whom he believes holds crucial information. Meanwhile, the students are under attack from a very different adversary as teenage hormones rage across the ramparts. Harry finds himself more and more drawn to Ginny, but so is Dean Thomas. And Lavender Brown has decided that Ron is the one for her, only she hadn't counted on Romilda Vane's chocolates! And then there's Hermione, simpering with jealously but determined not to show her feelings. As romance blossoms, one student remains aloof. He is determined to make his mark, albeit a dark one. Love is in the air, but tragedy lies ahead and Hogwarts may never be the same again.

Only half (or maybe not) of the story is told; characters are evident in their maturity level, very flat plot -- not a lot was told/explained.However,the part where Ron is experiencing love may have saved the plot a bit as it was definitely cute.

As a non-reader of Harry Potter books, I find the movie as just OK. The movie lacks climax and action sequences. However, there is improved character development especially in their relationships.

I love the scene of Ron falling in love.. it is funny... The "darkest" series so far.. but there is a different Half Blood Prince in the movie... and they don’t explain much... Anyway it is sure worth watching :)

This follows the book roughly ergo the weird editing, notable missing scenes & abrupt plot/love development (or lack of). As a link to the final HP showdown(s) it’s entertaining enough - funny, not very dark, emotional & 100% coming of age.

It is a good follow up. I especially like the fact that Harry is more mature and takes things into his hands now, instead of always relying on others. However, no major climax and only a tiny reference to the Half Blood Prince, which is the le!!!

I give 4 out of 5 popcorns. Love the comedy parts. Some parts were ok. Ending was kind of sudden. But i would definitely watch it again.

Too short & did not explain enough of the Half Blood Prince. The effects are spectacular as usual, read the book to understand it better. Can’t wait for Deathly Hallows! Cheers~

This movie is ok. However, compared to the other Harry Potter film adaptions, this is by far the worst. Everything in the movie was so rushed. As a Harry Potter fan, I hope they don’t do this to the Deathly Hallows.
