Golden Village was the first to revolutionise the cinema industry in Singapore being a pioneer and a trailblazer of the Multiplex concept. By introducing this concept to Singapore, GV brought a whole new paradigm shift to the cinema viewing experience., unique cinema concepts, state-of-the-art screens and audio visual systems plus new standards of seating comfort and luxury.

Golden Village began its commercial operations and made a mark across the island with the opening of Singapore's first 10-screen multiplex in Yishun on 28th of May 1992. The circuit expanded rapidly to virtually every corner of the country with subsequent openings at Bishan (1993), Tiong Bahru (1994), Jurong Point (1995), Tampines Mall (1996), Marina Square (1996), Plaza Singapura (1998), Great World City (1999), VivoCity (2006), Singapore's largest multiplex,and now Katong(2011 the world's first Peranakan-inspired cinema.)

Golden Village is the market leader in Singapore with 10 multiplex locations housing 81 screens islandwide.
