Golden Village began its commercial operations and made a mark across the island with the opening of Singapore's first 10-screen multiplex in Yishun on 28th of May 1992. The circuit expanded rapidly to virtually every corner of the country with subsequent openings at Bishan (1993), Tiong Bahru (1994), Jurong Point (1995), Tampines Mall (1996), Marina Square (1996), Plaza Singapura (1998), Great World City (1999) and now VivoCity (2006), Singapore's largest multiplex.
